Art: Consider and Pray Over

This Sunday, 9/29/19, we will be considering the Gospel lesson Luke 16:19-31. Here we listen to Jesus’ lesson about the need to notice and respond to the poor in our world. And we are reminded, once again, that God’s favor rests with the poor.

As we consider this lesson, we will look at two pieces of art work:

“The Servant Christ” by Jimilu Mason
On display in Washington, D.C.
“Homeless Jesus” by Timothy Schmalz
On display in Rome (and many other places)
