The Voice of God

While attending the Festival of Homiletics, one of the conversations a group of us had over a meal was how to expose the congregations we serve to the many different ways God speaks to us. We discussed poetry, meal-sharing, art, conversation. And we discussed, a lot, music. Music, someone once said, is how we hear God’s voice. As First Congregational has a strong music ministry – I know this is particularly true for our church!

So, I started to explore the various songs that I have heard that make me think of God and how I want to be in relationship with God. And this song, The Sound of Silence, kept coming to mind. In particular, the version seen in the below video. If you haven’t seen it, enjoy! And, if you have a song or a video that helps you to best understand God, please share it in the comments!
